Hire a Professional

I've heard it said that the wife of a builder is the last one to get her dream house. I believe it! This Thanksgiving was very nice. Many of our family members came to visit and eat the fixings. I set out to do a better job of documenting the day using my talent for photography. I got my best camera out of the case and put a great lens on it. I charged up the batteries and put cards in the slots.  I was ready to go. To warm up I took a few images of my wife and a couple of daughters in the kitchen doing some prep. That was where it ended. When the family all showed up I found myself busy with grand kiddos, not to mention eating! After all you can't let good food go to waste. Plus I learned a long time ago, when I was doing weddings, not to photograph people when they are eating. It doesn't go well! What about a group shot of everyone after dinner I hear you ask. That didn't happen either. Everyone finished at different times. The kids went back to playing and I found myself distracted by conversation and more fun with the grandchildren. finally people began to leave at different times and before you know it the party was over and I hadn't taken a single shot. I guess there is always my birthday on Christmas eve, but hey it's my birthday and I'll be opening gifts and chewing on a smoked prime rib cooked to perfection. I can see the distractions coming already. Maybe I'll hire a professional photographer. Yes, that ought to do the trick!
