The History of Our Lives

All Saturday morning I sat in front of my photo-editing computer going through old family images I had taken over the last 15 years or so. There were photographs of my wife, kids, and grand-kids I had forgotten about. I'd use my phone to copy the images off the screen and send them out to the family post. Everyone's comments were priceless. It made me think of this generation. They are the most photographed generation in history, largely due to the cell phone. What's unfortunate is none of these pictures will be around for their grandchildren to see. Pictures will go missing, codes will long be forgotten or go to the grave, and technology might well change. I struggle myself. As a professional photographer is seems like taking time to print my own photographs is always on the back burner. We'll see if I can change that by Christmas. Meanwhile I thought I'd share some of the photographs I have come across over the next week or so. Today's image is of a daughter who helped me set up my equipment while she was still in the house. I have a lot of images of her I took while I was setting up for photography shoots.  The first image was taken with studio lighting. The second image was taken with natural light coming through a window. The later shows that anyone with a little understanding of light can take a good photograph. I hope you will enjoy the blogs with their accompanying photographs over the next week or so. some will be cute, some funny, and some - well - whatever. Comment and let me know what you think.
