Helping The Children Meet Santa

I always welcome Santa Experience clients into my home before we take the kids to see Santa. It gives me a chance to establish a relationship with the children before we start. This time it really paid off. When the kids walked into the studio both children stuck to mom and dad, being too shy to walk over and wake Santa up. After a moment I waved the little girl over to me. She didn’t hesitate to come because of the time I spent talking her ahead of time. I simply asked her, "if I hold your hand will you go over to Santa With me?" She quickly agreed. Holding her hand, I led her over to the sleeping Santa. He opened his eyes thanked her for coming. Her shyness dissipated at that point and she became lost in the magic. Santa then looked across the studio and called her brother, who was still clinging to his parents, by name. With out hesitation he ran across the room and jumped into Santa’s arms and that was that. The session was as fun and relaxing as when I welcomed them into my home. Just one more reason I love to greet the children as they enter my home and talk to them before we take them to meet the man in red.
