Hiding Mom in the Shadows

These good looking boys were fun and easy to photograph, with one exception, their three-year-old cousin. He was not having any of this. it was evident he was not into Santa Claus! Mom was having to take him out so we could at least work with the other boys. My final solution was to put his mother behind Santa’s chair. I try to make that a last ditch solution, but in this case it was the thing to do. Having his mother close was enough to put him at ease and give some control to get him back into the session. One to three-year-olds can be a challenge, but there hasn’t been a session yet that enough patience and experimentation has not given us a successful finish. So don’t worry about the age of your children. They are guaranteed to have a good time with Santa and the photographs will be wonderful without exception even if it means hiding mom in the shadows!
